Salvin's albatross
Thalassarche salviniThe Salvin's albatross, endemic to New Zealand, mainly breeds on Bounty and Snares islands (approximately 30,000 annual breeding pairs). It has a lighter head and paler bill than the Chatham albatross, and a lighter head and a paler and shorter bill than the Buller's albatrosses . However, some misidentifications may occur.
