Pterodroma lessoniiThe white-headed petrel breeds in New Zealand mainly on Antipodes and Auckland islands, with more than 100,000 pairs breeding annually. Tens of thousands of pairs also breed elsewhere, mainly on Kerguelen Islands. This species is relatively easy to identify, compared with other gadfly petrels.
